Hi, I’m Grant.

The photo above is from a recent trip to Iceland. You can probably tell by now that I love wildlife and landscape photography. Sometimes, if I am really lucky, I even get them both in the same image. I spend 80% of my free time out in nature looking for wildlife to photograph. The other 20% is spent editing images I have captured. Recently, I built a camera trap system so I never miss an opportunity. A camera trap is like a trail camera, but much more sophisticated and uses professional cameras and flashes to capture wildlife remotely - so I can be at home editing or sleeping and capturing photographs of animals without being present.

My photography interest sparked in 2012 after graduating from Graceland University. My roommate at the time invited me to visited his home country - Venezuela. It was my first time traveling outside of North America and it is a trip that I will never forget. Seeing the different landscapes, culture, architecture, etc… of another country really had an impact on me. So much so, that after returning home I was already planning my next trip to South America. Over the next few years, I would travel to Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru before turning my addiction to Europe where I visited Austria, Germany, Italy, and Slovenia.

Although wildlife and landscape photography fueled my passion, I wanted to learn more types of photography. In 2018 I enrolled in the DMACC Photography program. After graduating in 2020 I started working at Meredith Corporation as a photo assistant. I have shot for brands like, All-Recipes, EatingWell, BHG, Martha Stewart Living, and Wood Magazine to name a few. I have also photographed tons of weddings, family sessions, and senior portraits. I have several on going clients and taking on more.
